Mamie was a wonderful big sister; she was generous in sharing. She was always loving, compassionate, and caring for all her family I have learned much from observing her throughout the years and am honored and blessed to have had her as my older sister.

Dolores Cammon

Mamie was not only a loving big sister when we were growing up, as adults we became the best of friends, we raised our families together, and she and I belonged to the same church until her passing.

Rev. Mary Louise Ruffner

Blessings to you, my dear sister Mamie, as your sweet spirit soars ever so gently to your new mansion in the Father’s House. I am so grateful for the many years you gave to life and living, being an angel unaware. Thank you for letting me know that you gave me my name on the day I was born and, thank you for your loving support ever since. Among my many treasured memories about you, is the celebration of you becoming a centenarian. It was wonderful to bear witness to you singing, with gusto, some of your favorite hymns; i.e., “In the Garden”, “How Great Thou Art”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, and so many more. May your soul continue to sing forevermore.

I remember when Mamie Baked those wonderful homemade rolls and I would tease her by calling them biscuits, she also made the best “chicken & dumplings”. Aunt Mamie always remembered my birthday, a very special lady. Rest In Peace

John N Ruffner

I remember having nostalgic memories of the smell of bananas when going in aunt Mamie\'s kitchen as a child, also a true sense of family when we used to watch home movies at her house.

Rev. Leora Nash

I remember when Maime left this life, now an eternal star in the heavens. Giving thanks for her gift of presence!

I remember when Mamie had a special dinner prepared with her delicious dinner rolls and her best tasting eggnog. She never revealed the recipes for her dinner rolls and her eggnog. Just as well, because even with the right ingredients no one could ever get the same results as Mamie.

Marilyn Love-Hartman

I was about 5 years old, I came into the house from playing, I think to get some water. My top was dirty and my braids came loose, when I was on my way out the front door ,my mother stopped me and would not allow me to back outside until I changed into clean clothes and she recombed my hair . At the time I did not appreciate why I had to have my hair comb and change my clothes for the second time since I was going to get dirty again. My mother explained to me that whenever I leave the house I must always be neat and clean no matter where I was going. As a mother myself I appreciate her wonderful advice. I have given this same advice to my children and grandchildren

Clarence Clark

Mamie was only nine years old when I was born. As an amateur family historian, I along with my wife, Yvonne, spent a lot of time visiting with her reminiscing about our childhood. Mamie was always so gracious and giving, and she generously shared both her knowledge and wisdom with us. Also she was a great cook who was always willing to share a meal, even though I often "popped" in at dinnertime unannounced. I am truly blessed to have had her as a loving and caring big sister.
